There was an inquiry last week about the possible availability of a VMEbus-compatible Ethernet controller card from Motorola. Yes, there is one: it is the MVME330, and was discussed at a Motorola/Almac VMEbus seminar presented in the Portland area last week. Salient features of the 330 (as presented by Steve Jobes, the Motorola corporate VMEdude) are: o Ethernet Class 2 compatible o Complete tranceiver interface o Onboard 68000 running at 10 MHz o LANCE and SIA o 128kbytes RAM, 32kbytes (E)PROM o 1 serial port (for debugging) o Timer & interrupt circuitry Price and availability were not announced; I called the local Motorola office but haven't yet heard back from them. When I do, I'll post the followup. If you can't wait for that, call your nearest Motorola field office - that's what they're there for.. keith ericson at teklabs

<gobble, gobble, gobble> The above mentioned board is actually made for Motorola by Communication Machinery Corporation 1421 State Street Santa Barbara CA 93101 (805) 963-9679 TWX 910 334-3508 We have had one on order since December. The Lance chip set might be good, but it is very hard to get hold of. They call the board the ENP-10 Simon Kenyon. ...!vax135!ukc!edcaad!dice!simon
