To: Love-Hounds From: Andrew Marvick (IED) Subject: KT NEWS; MisK. KT NEWS: ^^^^^^^ The new (2nd) UK KT single had its release date set back one week: it is now slated to show up in England's retail stores on Monday, November 20 (IED's birthday!). The a-side is the LP mix of _This_Woman's_Work_, and the b-side is a new re-mix of _Be_Kind_to_My_Mistakes_. The 12-inch and CD-single will contain both those tracks, plus a _brand_new_Kate_Bush_track_ called _I'm_Still_Waiting_ (a sequel to _There_Goes_a_Tenner_, perhaps? or maybe a song written from the point of view of KT fans everywhere?). MisK.: ^^^^^ 11/25 _Billboard_ chart listings: US LP chart, up from 46 to 43; UK (Gallup/Music Week) LP chart, down from 16 to 23; Canadian LP chart, stable at 19. _Rockpool_ (a trade publication for alternative college and commercial radio and retailers) has Kate at or near the top of nearly every regional retail and radio chart, at number 2 of the national alternative college radio airplay chart, and up from 50 (last issue) to _1_--a jump of 49 places in _one_week_--on the college retail chart. (Thanks, Chris and Vickie, for this information.) And with indicators like these, three guesses what this says about the competence of CBS's marketing team for not releasing a single, or even sending retailers a solitary piece of display art! IED recommends that every Love-Hound sit down right this instant and write/send Kate a letter urging her to ditch CBS and find a decent US label for once! A couple of other charts: MTV has put the _Love_and_Anger_ video in its "Buzz Bin" (IED is told this means dead-of-night airings only); and VH-1 has put it on medium rotation. Finally, the first part of a two-part interview with Kate has appeared in issue #32 of _RAW_. It's got a great colour shot on one page, and one page of biography and interview (nothing very different from earlier interviews is said). IED will wait till the follow-up issue comes out (in about ten days) before posting both--unless he receives tons of e-mail complaining about the delay. -- Andrew Marvick

MTV's "Buzz Bin" is hardly a dead-of-night rotation . . . I've had friends *complaining* about how often this video seems to turn up lately. It's a very interesting video, with Kate looking (IMHO) a little sweeter, prettier, and (natch) more sensual than usual. And I love the whirling of the Dervishes! ;-) Lazlo (lazlo@ariel.unm.edu) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I needed to make some napalm, mom . . .
