A minor revision of MIL-STD-1778, Transmission Control Protocol,
is underway, under the direction of Mike Corrigan of the DCA DDN PMO.
If you are aware of any anomalies in the MIL-STD form of the specification,
please send them to me and I will pass them on to the revision committee,
of which I am a member. A list of proposed changes is available to serious
interested parties.
This message is offered primarily for the benefit of those involved in
TCP networking activites outside the DoD Internet and who are involved
in commercial implementations of the protocols. We are trying to clean
up the protocol specifications to the point that IP/TCP becomes a "plug
it it and turn it on" technology, and works reliably across vendor and
network boundaries.
