Howdy again...I have a new question. I assume that an ethernet repeater is some sort of box, with 2 taps - 1 for each cable you are joining together. Is this correct? If so, does this mean that the new maximum length that an ethernet can be is 1500 meters, given the 500 meter limit on each cable segment and the limit that the signal between any two hosts on the net can pass through at most 2 repeaters? Also: What do repeaters cost? Where is a good place to get taps? Where is a good place to get the cable connectors and terminators? --- Steve Romig ...!cbosgd!osu-dbs!romig romig@ohio-state.csnet
