[rec.music.gaffa] Lindsay Kemp/Wicker Man

I love The Wicker Man, and feel it is one of the finest films of the
'70's-- and as to the music, does anyone know if there was/is a
soundtrack recording, and if so, how difficult is it to find? The music
in the film, if you don't know, features some haunting, beautiful songs,
and I would love to get a copy, as the boot I made from my video copy
didn't turn out too well (too much dialogue interspersed).

thanks in advance---

I agree that both the film and the score (by Paul Giovanni I believe) are
excellent but, unfortunately, the latter has yet to be made available. The
film experienced a lot of post-production problems (there are currently three
different versions doing the rounds, ranging from 84 mins. to 102 mins.) and
that might be one of the reasons as to why the soundtrack hasn't yet been
released.

There was supposed to be a non-commercial pressing made of "The Wicker Man"
c/w "Starcrash" (of all things) a couple of years ago on some obscure label
but it never materialized.
