[rec.music.gaffa] Should I start with _The Whole Story_?

rs0@BEACH.CIS.UFL.EDU (Bob Slaughter) (03/15/90)

I have heard a few of her songs, seen a few of her videos, want to get
this nice B&W poster of her in a leotard, but haven't gotten a CD of
her yet. Should I get _The Whole Story_ as a starter?

RSVP, here and/or by e-mail

Picture a "Far Side" with the fat pouty nerdy kid opening a door that
you can make out has a stencilled sign "Physics Department Colloquium Room"
and a smaller one "please open and close quietly" and another one "Professor
Smith on Galactic Fillamentation in Cygnus R35a".... and saying
"I think physics is neat but can anyone recommend a good kite?"
...to the colloq'ing nerdy physicists gathered inside, obviously interrupted.

I say is take cover....say, of _Never for Ever_. Pretty sturdy stuff and
resists flames up to 451 F. (smile)

No, you should get _Hounds of Love_, which to me is the definitive KT
primer. After that, you should be hooked. I was, and so it went
with many of my friends and fellow Bush Leaguers.

Disclaimer: It's only what *I* think. So, no one get upset.

I can't recommend _The Whole Story_ in any way.

The sound quality of the older tracks leaves much to be desired. I
don't know where they got the master tapes for _TWS_ but I sure
wouldn't store my offsite backups there.

I bought _TWS_ early on, and I thought "Ho hum, fairly interesting..."
Then I bought my own copy of _The Dreaming_ and _Never for Ever_ and
the same songs took my breath away; the difference in quality was
    that noticeable.
