[rec.music.gaffa] Kate X bitmaps

Love-Hounds-request@GAFFA.MIT.EDU (08/22/90)

It looks like I will be getting an X-windows workstation on my
desk in the next couple of weeks. I've heard that there are some
GREAT full screen background bitmaps of Kate to be had if you know
where to look.

The problem is that I don't know where to look!!
Can anyone help me find these?

My goal is to have my screen filled with a big picture of Kate!!
Just imagine a screen full of the Whole Story picture or the
Dreaming cover!!

I hope you've got some good news for me.

Thanks in advance,
Mark.

Try the ftp host "larry.mcrcim.mcgill.edu". In the directory
"/bitmaps",
you will find 4 Kate X bitmaps of various sizes and densities from her
"Whole Story" cover. We also have a "Sensual World" bitmap in-house,
but I'm not sure where it came from. I'm sure I can arrange to mail
	it to you, if necessary.

I have a couple of the Kate rasters and bitmaps, but I'll be damned
if I can remember for sure where I got them. I'd try expo.lcs.mit.edu
if you have access to the Internet. I THINK this is where I got mine,
although most of these are SUN raster images, not X bitmaps. If
you can't find any, drop me a note and maybe I can arrange to ship
a couple off for you. The ones I have are mostly the cover of TSW in
some variation or another.

on gaffa.mit.edu in the lh/kb/pix/gif.new directory is a whole mess of
KaTe gifs - i'm not sure if this will be ameiable to your needs, but
they can be converted to something else by using the pbm package which
i think is available on expo.lcs.mit.edu...
