[rec.music.gaffa] Sinead & 'Patriotism' short

brian@mel.dit.csiro.au (Brian May) (08/29/90)

(I've no access to a US 'political' BBS, so this is my 1 & only post on
the subject)

[Lazlo & Greg's disagreement mainly deleted - you've seen it already!]
================

I think that Sinead's and Lazlo's point (also my belief) is that such
Nationalism (especially outrage over refusing National anthems or
[much stronger] flag burning) leads you well down the road to a
'superiority complex' over other nations.

Now, you should realise her decision was based on a disgust/distaste
for nationalism/patriotism, not America as most of the enraged people
around this issue seem to think.

I'm sure love hounds are sick of this by now, so, flames by email.
