Really-From: cole@lea.csc.ncsu.edu (Robert Cole) In article <9009100553.AA27411@world.std.com> you write: >Really-From: katefans@world.std.com (Chris'n'Vickie of Chicago) > >Vickie here. >It was fantastic that Ed was here to hear my very first Chicago Suspended >In Gaffa show. It really just sort of fell in my lap. Perhaps Vickie should re-title her Chicago show to Sat In Your Lap :) >Siouxsie & the Banshees Ahh, now we get to the point of this posting. I've been thinking of purchasing something by S&tB for quite a long time now. However, I've been reluctant since I know absolutely nothing about them. Would some kind person please e-mail me some suggestions on a CD to start with. Thanks, -rgc

Really-From: maus@fir.Morgan.COM (Malcolm Austin) I know it's a long time since you posted asking about Siouxsie & the Banshees, but I just read you posting, and I hope you won't mind my $0.02. I would recommend their last two albums, PEEPSHOW and THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. I think they greatly improved their arrangements and writing quality, distancing themselves from the grating qualities of punk without quite losing their edge. If you like S&tB, I think you will also enjoy CLEOPATRA GRIP, by the Heartthrobs. They are a "new" band from England, and have a single on (very good) radio called "Dreamtime". Very reminiscent of both S&tB and Sinead O'Connor. -- =============================================================================== Malcolm Austin -- maus@fir.morgan.com Disclaimer (v.), to unarm an opponent wielding a Scottish broadsword ===============================================================================
