Any Kate-fans out there into Bongwater?
(no, not THAT...the MUSICAL GROUP!!!)
Ever seen the movie "Making Mr. Right" ???
The leading actress, Ann Magnuson, is the lead singer!
What is BONGWATER like? Mix the weirdness of King Missile with, well, a
girl shrieking her head off.
They do some really strange covers, like the Monkees song "Just May Be the
One" and a version of Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" all done in
Chinese, called "Dazed and Chinese"...they even beat up the Timelords song
"Doctorin' the Tardis" for a song about a groupie.
Heck, are there any King Missile fans out there, also?

"Breaking No New Ground" is great..."Double Bummer" is even better...
Unfortunately, all the record stores around here are poorly stocked, and I
was thinking of ordering the new bongwater stuff through Tower's 1-800 number
thingo.
Were my eyes deceiving me, or did I see bongwater on TWO compilation tribute
albums? Specifically, "The Bridge" (for Neil Young) and "Where the Pyramid
Meets the Eye" (for Roky Erickson).
Another GREAT band on Shimmy Disc is King Missile...I got their "Mystical
$hit / Fluting on the Hump" CD at Tower for $14.95! That's a great buy for
60+ minutes of hilariously funny music...
I suppose the 'band' Dogbowl was formed by Dogbowl himself, formerly of King
Missile fame? I need to check that out...
Many thanks for the person who posted the bongwater stuff...

The CD is available. It was $16.99 at a local store as of last Friday.

to look into fred lane and his hittite hotshots.. same label.

i am addicted to dogbowl, am waiting anxiously for release of new album. have
heard stories from friends in ny area that the band is great live.

sure.. anytime... have been following kramer's career since the days when
shockabilly was a 'local' band, and his new venture is definitely worth
paying attention to. he's even managed to get the fugs out of hibernation.
