Does anyone know where I might find some information on LAN modeling and simulation, particularly, performance analysis techniques, what assumptions should be made in the evaluation, etc? Have there been any studies done which answer questions like "how often does a person send electronic mail, how often does he/she do a file transfer, etc?"
