Boston University has been an Ungermann-Bass Net/One site for about 3 years. At this time we are exclusively a broadband site, with 2 channels allocated for data. One channel (4A/R) is our terminal and host async traffic. This channel is currently around 1100 ports on NIU 2B, 150, and 180 equipment. The second channel is used exclusively for host-to-host traffic through NIU 150's with the DR11-W interface. Currently we are running TCP/IP via UB's datagram service over channel 4/Q. Anyway....I would like to compile a list UB sites and their various configurations. Although there is a formal users group, this might be a good way of informally addressing obscure bugs, other problems, and possible solutions. Currently, I have no way to verify various network system problems, and it would sure be nice to be able to call UB and say "So and so and so is having the same problems". At times, UB response to specific problems have been "That will be fixed in release 1000.A1" or "Gee, that the first time I've heard about that - Let me call California". All in all, as a general disclaimer, we are fairly happy with UB's product, however there has been times that I wanted to turn to other users for information and support. If you respond to this request, please include the names of people at your site associated with both the management and technical aspects of your system. I will collect these responses and send them back as soon as possible. Furthermore, I'll send this list to any who request it. Thanx in advance.
