[comp.unix.cray] differences in UNICOS versions

iony@olsen.UUCP (Ion Yadigaroglu) (12/06/89)

Problem statement:

1) program runs on various UNICOS 4 versions on cray XMP (usually 48)
2) program crashes on UNICOS 5 versions in a CAL (cray assembler)
subroutine on use of permanent B registers B02 and B03.
3) we know that the problem is with the operating system and not
specific machine, i. e. crashes on *all* UNICOS 5 machines,
never crashes on UNICOS 4 machines.

Any ideas?

Thanx in advance,

Ion

... what is the routine? What is the failure mode?
