[comp.protocols.iso.dev-environ] Judith Sutton's Phone Number

PWW@BNR.CA (Peter Whittaker, P.W.) (08/31/90)

I've been trying to reach Judith Sutton at the NCC in Manchester,
re. the OSI protocol analyzer over X.25 that was mentioned in a post
of a few days ago, but with little (i.e. no) success.

I've tried both numbers from the post (tel: UK 061 228 6333, and
fax: UK 061 228 2579). Can anyone confirm is these are correct?

If so, maybe my dialing technique is to blame: can anyone see the fault
in the following,

from Ottawa, dial 011 44 061 228 2579 (or 228 6333)?

011 supposedly means station to station, 44 is the UK country code,
061 is the Manchester location code, and the last 7 digits are Judith's
phone & fax numbers. When I try this, I get a recorded message to the
effect that the number as dialed is somehow unreachable.

Replies by email, please, to pww@bnr.ca; I will post the correct
phone number if that's what the problem is....

Thx,

Peter W.

Thanks to all those (23, last count!) who replied. For the sake
of anyone who might be curious, the number is right (just finished
faxing my document!!!), but the dialing technique was wrong: when dialing
from within the UK, you need the leading '0' on the location code
(i.e. 061), but when dialing from outside the UK (i.e. when using a
a country code), the '0' is superfluous and causes errors....

So the correct dialing info is:

(you_local_system's_overseas_indicator) 44 61 228 2579

Thanks again,

Peter W.
