schoff@PSI.COM ("Martin Lee Schoffstall") (11/08/90)

Peter,

We received your message Tuesday and found a flapping interface
which is now fixed, or "patched" to be more precise. If you
have further problems contact:

Gidday, attached is a note I sent to postmaster@uu.psi.com on Monday,
November 5, about problems ftping the ISODE 6.6 Beta source from that
site. I ahven't had any reply or further ftp successes.

Anyone out there in ISODE land know anything about this?

Note: we have had no problems ftping arbitrarily large files from
 other sites.

 Thanks,

 Attachment follows:
 -------------------

 Hello and good morning!

On Friday (November 2) I tried several times to FTP the ISDOE source tar files
from the pilot/src directory on uu.psi.com; there were problems.

Each time I Logged in as anonymous, password pww@bnr.ca, then did:
 cd /pilot/src
 ls
 hash
 prompt
 bin
 mget isode*

At this point, uu.psi.com would start sending the first of three ISODE
files; it would get about 70% of the way through the transmission (about
3M out of 5M received at my end) then it would 'hang' (i.e. no more hash marks
,
no more data). Some time after the hash marks stopped showing up (the period
varied from attempt to attempt) a timeout error would be generated (timing out
after 900 seconds of inaction) and the connection would close (I wish I had se
nt
this Friday, because I can't remember who had closed the connection - I think
it
 was your side).

 That's it! Thanks!
