[comp.protocols.iso.dev-environ] isode docs

hughes@copper.ucs.indiana.edu (larry hughes) (12/05/90)

I've downloaded isode v6.0 and performed the 'make' without a hitch --
except for the documentation.

Our high speed laser printer is postscript (it's a DEC Printserver 40),
so I also ftp'd the postscript copy of the docs. However, the
printer didn't like ANY of the postscript. I tried printing it on
an Apple laserwriter (through our Novell net) and it printed
beautifully, but I prefer not to print volumes of docs this way.

So, I've been trying to make the docs from scratch (from the
original distribution), first the .dvi files then the .ps. I have
the .dvi ok (I think, latex and slitex had a lot of confusing things
to say, but then they always do :-), but our dvi2ps only successfully
generated 8 .ps files out of the whole set (around 40).

Has anyone experienced these difficulties, or is it just me? Any
work arounds? On what platform(s) has anyone gotten a clean make
on the docs?

Thanks in advance for any help...
