[comp.protocols.iso.dev-environ] Installing ISODE : where is the tsapd daemon ?

clissman@ccvax.ucd.ie (01/31/91)

Thanks very much to all those of you out there who gave me help on the last
question i had on installing isode 6.0

A new problem has arisen... after making isode, READ-ME says the superuser must
add lines to the /etc/rc.local file which will invoke a tsapd daemon. We have
not been able to find this daemon. Is he created by the makefile (and if so,
where is he mentioned in it, cos we can't find him ?) or doe she exist
beforehand (and if so, where is he, cos we can't find him there either !).

We're installing isode6.0 on a sun sparcstation under BSD unix ver 4.1.1. Is
there somew special trick we should know or that we missed in the manual
/read-me file ?

By the way, should the test prog isode-test return no errors when you run it or
are some to be expected ? We got errors about inetrnet, janet x25 and so on
communities and about unknown application entities and unknown provider/entity
pairs. Do we need to get alarmed about this ?

Any help is _very- gratefully received

Thanks

Ciaran
