I'd like to make a plea for a small reorganization of the ISODE distribution format. Specifically, that the compressed tar file be split into two smaller files - one containing the very large ./doc directory tree, and the other containing the software itself. For some reason, I perpetually have difficulties downloading files from uu.psi.com (am I the only one ?) and it is very frustrating to have the ftp connection go away when the transfer is 80% complete (as just happened ... :=( ). And for a maintenance release like 6.8, I'm not interested in getting the existing documentation (which I already have) anyway. (Not to mention local savings in disk space.. ) Comments ? - Simon _______________________________________________________________________________ Simon Rosenthal: ___________ Concurrent Computer Corporation / _________/_ Westford, MA 01886 /_/________/ / Internet: simon@westford.ccur.com /__________/

Look into the ftp command "reget"; it will restart at the point where the previous "get" failed (provided you don't delete your truncated file, of course). --Frank Malczewski (fdm@wlv.imsd.contel.com)
