I think there is a bug in gnews in the way it handles junked articles. This happens only when the index mode is invoked. Two things happen: 1. Often not all the articles that should be junked are shown as junked, e.g. in the sorted index often I see that some of the articles are not junked when others of the same subject are. This does not usually cause a problem (see 2 below). 2. Invariably, some the articles that are shown as killed are not junked immediately, but only when gnews comes around to it on the second pass. Most often these articles happen to be at the top, or the bottom of the indexed list. Also, if they happen to be at the top of the list, gnews does not junk the first one!! In the second pass, all these articles are simply junked, including the kind discussed in 1 above. I don't think I am doing anything fancy in my .gnewsrc.hook except for sorting indices. I'd appreciate suggestions to fix this. Thanx. -amitabh _______________________________________________________________________________ Amitabh Shah shah@cs.cornell.edu--(INTERNET) Dept. of Computer Science shah@cornell------------(CSNET) Upson Hall -- Cornell University { ... }!cornell!shah-----(UUCP) Ithaca NY 14853-7501 (607) 255-8597----------(VOICE)
