One problem is that most items for sale would usually only be
considered by those who live close to the seller, and so would probably
have a localized distribution. However, geographical closeness is not
necessarily the same as network closeness, as witnessed by the
difficulty in establishing a news link between northern and southern
California for the ca.general newsgroup.
I realize that this is a problem if "For Sale" notices are put into
net.general and net.wanted, or net.forsale, but it would be easier to
control distribution with net.forsale.
