[gnu.bash.bug] makeinfo?

rich@oxtrap.sendai.ann-arbor.mi.us (K. Richard Magill) (06/20/89)

What's a makeinfo? and how do I format the info pages? M-x
texinfo-format-buffer doesn't do it.

I'm sorry I didn't answer this right away, it got lost in old mail.

`makeinfo' is the standalone texinfo->info formatter written in C. This
program has a companion, `info' which is (yup, you guessed it) the
standalone info reader written in C.

The manual (such as it is) will be formattable by both M-x
texinfo-format-buffer and makeinfo in release 1.00.

makeinfo.c and info.c are not yet available from prep, which is an
oversight on the part of myself and others. In less than a month it
will be available for anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu.
