[gnu.bash.bug] time in prompt

Hi,

  Is there an easy way to get bash to display the current time in the
prompt *without* using 24 hour time?!  Furthermore, is there an easy
way to get the `inverse video' effect available in tcsh's prompt
format?

  What I'd really like is a hint on how to make my bash prompt 
look just like my tcsh prompt, i.e.:

  set prompt = "%S[%@]%s [%m] [%h]..: "
