[gnu.bash.bug] functions in the background

I have the following function:

ecr () { local s=$1; shift; enscript -2r -fCourier${s} -P${LASER} $@ }

when I type 

ecr 4 foo &

I get a segmentation fault, however, if I leave off the & at the
end, it is ok.
