[net.lan] 4.2 Protocol Implementation in Proce

jbn@wdl1.UUCP (08/05/85)

Long ago, in 1981, 3COM released UNET, a full implementation of IP/TCP
with all of TCP in user space. This required some very strange psuedo-devices
to provide the necessary interprocess communication. It was an interesting
idea; we still run it on a few machines, but its time has passed.
