Is there anyone who knows anything out there about a possible merging of UNIX with NSC's Hyperchannel? Perhaps a UNIX implementation of Netex(?)? Thanks for any pointers. Lyle McElhaney ...denelcor!lmc

The code is from the Berkeley distributions and I think it originated with Tektronics. We currently interconnect two VAX's, and internet gateway (11/34), and our CYBER with the Hyperchannel. Netex sucks, by the way. It's the only hardware specific protocol I've ever seen that is more inefficient than TCP/IP. -Ron

You might want to send to ihnp4!gjm and inquire. Call 800-828-UNIX and inquire about the "HyperChannel COMKIT Software". You need to specify the type of processor you're running. Paul McFerrin AT&T-IS CPL Indianpolis, Ind.
