I am a Scot working an internship at DEC this summer and looking for things to do in the USA in September before my return to the UK. I'm looking for a Christian festival or community or project to visit or take part in. This is not meant as an exhaustive list, but the kinds of things I have in mind are: spending a week in silence in a Christian retreat center, or attending an ecumenical Christian festival, or taking part in a Christian program of social action. I mean no disrespect to those who feel otherwise but I'm not ready to engage in explicit evangelism. I've been living near San Francisco, and I'm most interested in but not limited to activities in California. I can spend up to three weeks on this break in the USA.
