As a child, when my grandfather died, I asked one of the Fathers if he'd please sing a mass for him. He asked me what my grandfather's name was and I said, "Papa." He asked me if I'd come, and I said no, we only came to Sunday mass, but I'd like a mass sung for Papa anyway, please. I didn't have any money nor did he ask me for any. I didn't tell my parents because it was something I personally wanted to do by myself. You know how children are. It was my way of remembering Papa. Absent from the technical discussions, I thought you might like to hear a personal story. He told me later that he announced this mass was for "Papa," just like I had told him. No one knew anything else. Sincerely, gatech!ncsatl!smith_c
