[net.lan] IEEE 802.3/Ethernet

I am trying to determine the status of IEEE 802.3 for a piece of
documentation on which I am currently working. Is it yet a standard,
or is it in draft form, or what? Also, if anyone knows of an address
I could use to obtain a copy of whatever the latest it, that would
be useful.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Hey, there's a great future as a fry cook! I could be manager in two years.

IEEE 802.3 is an IEEE/ANSI standard and a Draft International Standard
within ISO (DIS 8802/3). It is also a Federal Information Processing
Standard in the US as FIPS PUB 107.

IEEE 802.4 has the same status while 802.5 isn't quite at the ISO/DIS level.
802.5 is a Draft Proposal.

The IEEE Computer Society publishes the standard which can be ordered from
them for $21.95 ($19.95+handling for IEEE members - include membership number).
