Sorry not to do a direct reply to the message in question, but every time I tried, I got another message quoted in my editor. Oh, well . . . As for attributing this to Gandhi; well, he may have said it, too, but I just read it yesterday in the Gerald Walsh, et al, translantion of St. Augustine's _City of God_.
