[soc.religion.christian] Fatima Prophecies and The abomination that causes desolation

md89mch@cc.brunel.ac.uk (Martin Howe) (07/02/90)

My thanks to all who mailed or posted descriptions of the incidents
at Fatima. I am still considering the matter, because as a Protestant,
there are some ideas that seem a bit strange to me in all of it.

As for the abomination that desolates in Daniel, the interpretation
that most people subscribed to was the destruction of the Temple by the
Romans in AD 70. I rather thought that since Jesus was talking about the
"end of the age" meaning the actual Day of Judgement, that the events
were *way* in the future, but now that I have the references for
the verses in Daniel, I can have a look for myself.
(Also, how can an abomination "belong" anywhere ?)

Thanks again, all who responded.
Regards,
Martin.
