What is the Core of Christianity?

The Catholic would say that the Deposit of the Catholic Faith is
the self-disclosure of God to man, i.e. God's Revelation to man. This
Revelation has many forms, but ultimately involves the action of the
Holy Spirit upon/within man. Some of this Revelation was written down
in the form of Sacred Scripture, whereupon the Holy Spirit acted with
the cooperation of the will of a single human being to express without
error what God wanted to be expressed. Other aspects of this Revelation
are expressed when the Holy Spirit acts in conjunction with the Teaching
Authority of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church -- the
Mystical Body of Christ. The Church, as commisioned by Christ, can
teach infallibly what God has revealed to man.

Ultimately, the Revelation of God to man is His Word -- Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were made. Jesus *IS* the Revelation of God to
man. Every aspect of Christ's existence -- his words, actions,
personallity, feelings, suffereings -- are God's Revelation of Himself
to man. For the Catholic, this is most purely expressed in the
Holy Eucharist -- the actual and real presence of the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinty of Jesus Christ. "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son
of Man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you."

All of Scriture and all of Revelation points to Jesus, for He *IS* God
made Man! Halleluia!!
