I don't know how our moderator will respond to this request. I have a friend, whose religious beliefs range from agnostic (on a good day) to atheistic (most days). He does pray once a week, at my request. (Please no flames about how an agnostic/atheist can pray. My books tell me that everyone can & should pray). He is looking for a copy of a movie made in the 1950's, called The Strip, which stars Mickey Rooney & Louis Armstrong. This movie appeared on either public television or one of those cable stations like American Movie Classics. The movie has never been released on videotape. His only hope of finding a copy is to either find someone who taped it, who find a TV station somewhere in the world which is showing this movie soon, and ask a kind soul living in that vicinity to tape it for him. My friend is willing to pay taping/shipping/tape costs to anyone willing to do this. He wants the tape to give as a birthday present, so it will be for home use only of the gift recipient, nothing illegal about taping it. He's tried many sources on and off the net to find someone willing to check their tv listings & tape the movie for him. I told him I would try the religion newsgroup, thinking perhaps special charity might induce readers to take some time to check their public tv listings or cable movie listings to see if perhaps this movie were playing soon. And to agree to tape it, if so. I can supply details later. Thanks in advance to the moderator, if you agree to post this request, and thanks to anyone out in netland who takes the trouble to look to see if they can help out. I would appreciate it if it could be found, and my friend would also. Rae
