[soc.religion.christian] yes, I'm still alive, but please hold followups for a while

christian@geneva.rutgers.edu (10/17/90)

soc.religion.christian has been dead for about two weeks. I had a
personal crisis on top of a budget crisis and a major reorganization
of the group I work for. I was simply unable to do everthing I
should. I believe things are now in order, and soc.religion.christian
will pick up again. I have 94 messages queued. It will take some
time for them all to be processed. I will do 20 to 30 a day.

Please hold off following up on messages from this backlog, until I
indicate that I'm finished with the backlog. Otherwise you're likely
to be responding without having seen what others have already said.

In order to make sure that everyone sees this message first, I'm going
to wait a few hours before starting on the backlog.

By the way, this group has a tendency to be dominated by conversations
on a few controversial subjects. At some point I think it makes sense
to cut off those discussions. Once I'm finished with the backlog, I'm
thinking of implementing a policy that sets a maximum of 20 messages a
day, and giving priority to things that are not followups or that
followup relatively new discussions.
