Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. Psalm 55.22. Many Christians cannot be used of God in a prayer ministry because they are over-burdened. They have let their burdens accumulate instead of seeking relief in prayer, and ultimately they are so crushed by the weight of them that they cannot pray at all. Suppose you intended asking someone to help you with a certain task, but found his hands were already full. Would it not be useless to invite his aid? In the same way, if you are so weighted down by the thing God has already committed to you, how can he commit to you anything further? This ministry of prayer requires a liberated spirit, or the work of God will be seriously hampered. Would you be an instrument free and ready to hand for Him to use? Seek then the spiritual emancipation that comes from casting your burden on God. ----- Robert W.
