SDAnet, a Seventh-day Adventist electronic mailing list, has been formed. We use the national electronic mailing networks to distribute messages to subscribers across the US and Canada, and have the capacity to spread to Europe and South America as well. All messages are approved by a moderator and are private in the sense that they are sent only to those who subscribe. SDAnet exists for the following purposes: 1) To encourage contact between SDA's on various public campuses, industry, and Adventist campuses. 2) To supply information on what Seventh-day Adventists believe. We have the SDA "Statement of Fundamental Beliefs" on line, and anyone is welcome to ask questions or discuss what they mean. 3) To discuss practical issues of relevance to the Adventist subculture and the world in general. 4) To allow for announcement of gatherings and conferences of interest to the college and university community. 5) To discuss issues in human relations. This list is not an official arm of the Seventh-day Adventist church. While I, as moderator, am a member of the church, I hold no official position within the church and draw no salary from it. The names "Adventist" and "Seventh-day Adventist" are registered trademarks of the General Conference Association of SDA, and should be used with care. Opinions expressed on this list will not necessarily reflect the official position of the SDA church. It is my hope, however, that they will reflect the Christian ideals of love and courtesy. Inflammatory comments will therefore be either heavily edited or rejected. Anyone may post to this list, and anyone may subscribe.
