I really admire the parochial schools that provide the urban poor with a reasonably-priced alternative to wretched inner city schools. In fact, I want to support them through action: I'm taking next year "off" between college and law school to teach. I'd like to teach at an idealistic, committed Catholic elementary school in some other part of this country (I'm from the New York area and go to school in Boston) or in Anglophone Europe. I know that parochial schools pay very badly, but I plan to dedicate the year to public service, not profit, and only ask that I break even with respect to my living expenses. Can anyone suggest someplace particularly appropriate? I've found lots of information but very little useful advice.
