Many fundamental Baptist preachers believe that Isaiah chapter 13 and Jeremiah chaps 49-51 are being fulfilled now in the Iraq and Kuwait. Of course as with most Bible prophecy, there is a short term and a long term fulfillment - this being the long term. This war will help get most of the middle east and western nations together for preparation of the manisfestation of the Antichrist. The Lord is coming soon!!!! (I hope so, anyway) Alan

>This war will help get most of the middle east and western nations together >for preparation of the manisfestation of the Antichrist. Assuming this particular interpretation (out of many) is correct. >The Lord is coming soon!!!! (I hope so, anyway) Beware - you may be surprised to find yourself gladdened by the war, because it means that your personal salvation is near. I don't want to diminish the joy in your heart, but with the return of the Lord will also come the beginning of the end of the world (or the end of the end, depending upon how you interpret). This will not be a time of happiness for those left behind. And yet, there are probably some who would even want to "help" God along with his plans by encouraging what they see as the final signs. When Sodom and Gamorrah (sp) were to be destroyed, Abraham begged God to spare them for the sake of the few righteous that remained. He could have just asked God to save Lot and his family and then destroy the cities as they deserved, but he didn't. Noah also was probably greatly saddened at what was to come. -- Darin Johnson djohnson@ucsd.edu - Political correctness is Turing undecidable.
