[soc.religion.christian] Was it NAILED to the CROSS ? - Romans 14:5-8

st0o+@andrew.cmu.edu (Steven Timm) (02/28/91)

Dave's series of postings on the application of the Sabbath have been
well-stated. As a Sabbathkeeper I wish to give my perspective.

Too often, even by Sabbathkeepers, the Sabbath is seen as some kind of
dreadful chore and obligation. Nothing is further from the truth.
In Deuteronomy where the Sabbath is restated it is in the context of
the redemption of Israel. In this context, the Sabbath is not a
requirement of salvation but a celebration of the salvation already
granted. We shall not do any work on the Sabbath because none is necessary.
Christ has done it all for us.

I hope this idea helps you no matter which day you consider your Sabbath.
As always, specific questions can be addressed to SDAnet in care of me.
