A friend of mine (not on the net) is having trouble getting a simple question answered. What protocol does 3BNET use? TCP/IP? XNS? Or something of AT&T's own creation? ----- Brad L. 3BNET refers to the "transport" level protocol used above Ethernet. More specifically, it really refers to the set of Ethernet user features provided by AT&T: file transfer (via nisend), remote command execution (via nisend), electronic mail (via mailx), and the 3BNET Application Programming Interface. The 3BNET API allows a user to create his own network applications by constructing and sending/receiving his own Ethernet packets. Chris Donahue AT&T Info. Sys. Application Engineering
