[soc.religion.christian] Building Help

op@jeeves.acc.Virginia.EDU (Olaf Pors) (02/08/91)

Here's a question of a practical rather than theological
nature. I apologize to readers of this newsgroup if this
seems inappropriate, but I'm not aware of any other
newgroups that handle this. On the other hand, if our
theology isn't practical, it is of limited value! :-).

The members of our church in Virginia (Charismatic,
born-again believers) are currently renting space, and
preparing to construct our own building. Our building
plan budget requires us to raise extra money or lower
costs somehow. One alternative we're looking at is to
hire a project manager that has experience with churches,
can creatively reduce the cost of construction (for
example, by offering tax writeoffs), can coordinate
substantial volunteer efforts, and can coordinate
contruction activities, all at a reasonable cost. We know
of a Mennonite from Ohio who would arrive with his trailer
at the construction site and stay for a few months until
the job is well underway. The problem is that he quite
likely may be unavailable during the time we have
scheduled.

Does anyone know of other persons or organizations that
do this kind of thing?

Please post replies to this list or e-mail responses to
"op@virginia.edu.bitnet".

Thank you in advance for any substantial leads.

This article was posted once before. There were no
answers, so I'll try one more time.
