What soldier ever serveth at his own charges? who plnateth a vineyard, and eateth not the fruit thereof? 1 Corinthians 9:7. It is upon God that our eyes are fixed, it is to him our material needs are told, and it is He who touches the hearts of His children to meet those needs. yes, the labourer is worthy of his hire, and the Lord ordained that they who proclaim the gospel shall live by the gospel. But we do well to ask ourselves, Whose labourers are we? If we serve men, by all means let us look to men for our support; but if we are the labourers for God, then though He may meet our needs through our felllowmen, it is to Him we must look and to no other. If the call and commmission have come from Him, then the responsibility will be His for all that our obedience to Him involves, and we need never inquire how he is going to discharge it. ----- Robert W.
