I've just recently bought a copy of this and I'm reading it through. It is interesting so far, and seems not too badly ridden with loaded assumptions, fallacies, or wild speculations. Certainly better than The_Passover_Plot, etc. Was there a discussion of this book in this forum when it came out (1987)? More generally, what do folks think about the admixture of history and miracle-stories, such as we find in the gospels? Are these totally separate realms of discourse, or can we 'do history' on the miracles as well as on the more mundane details given in the texts? What about the role of the above in talking with non-believers (apologetics) ? Dave Davis These are my opinions alone. daved@westford.ccur.com *or* {harvard, uunet, petsd}!masscomp!daved QOTD: "You will all go directly to your respective Valhallas, Go directly, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollahs..." -- Tom Lehrer, "We Will All Go Together When We Go" --
