I've recently been thinking much about what the sin of Satan really meant and what it really means to walk with God. Satan, I believe, epitomized pride and self love. "Forget God's way, I know more than he does. I ought to run this show!" he might have said. I then realized that I had been guilty of this on a microcosmic scale. Consider this. You are given an assignment by bossman. It looks like hard work, and you immediately think "This is crazy! I could do it better than this. I should be boss!" After years of doing it my way I realized that there is a WAY to do things. Whether it be mowing the yard, cooking, or playing guitar, there is a WAY. God's way. In doing things God's way one receives maximum effeciency and enjoyment. First, one must abandon his own way and surrender his will to THE way. This shedding of the will to do worldly things I think is analogous to the religious surrender of the will. Anyone have thoughts on this matter? Scott
