[net.lan] upgrade for HP Vectra network software upgrade???

I just installed the HP Office Network (probably a TM of HP) for a friend
this afternoon.  The hardware looks solid (3COM boards) but the network
software leaves much to be desired.  Does anyone in netland know when a
*MAJOR* upgrade of the HP network software will be coming out?
