[alt.slack] New Edition of the BoB

OK. I was in my local bookstore the other night and I saw the new version
of the Book of the Sub-Genius (A Fireside Book/Simon & Schuster). I took
one look at the cover and just about barfed. You rember the awesome, stark-
fisted, gut-blowout cover that was on the original McGraw-Hill version?
Well they changed it! Instead there is now a Dobbshead floating inside
a bunch of nauseating clouds (Of pig farts, I think - I couldn't tell),
making Bob look like any other normative, cut-rate, only omnipotent
deity, instead of the two-fisted, super-hyper-ultra-mega-wholelotta-
omnipotent being that Bob is!

Now to be fair (but why the hell should I) they had not changed a single
word of the BoB (which can be extremely hazardous as well as being against
several EPA regulations) and they did include the original cover art (BUT
INSIDE THE BACK COVER, AND ONLY IN BLACK-AND-WHITE, FOR BOB'S SAKE!!!!!).

Now I can think of only a few reasons why this travesty could have occurred:

1) A massive screw-up in post production where they mistakenly put the covers
on in the wrong order.

2) An attempt by S&S to put a slightly less 'rathO'Bob(TM)-like cover on the
book to try to lure more DOLLAR$ from Pinks who didn't know what they were
buying.

3) A tragic attempt by the Pinks in the S&S organization to try to subvert
the Holy WordO'Bob(TM) which probably destroyed a great deal of them (and
even ineffective - notice that the interior of the book has not been
touched! A miracle, if I ever saw one!!! ... or kill me!).

Also, notice that McGraw Hill has irritated the universal powers by
discontinuing the publication of the BoB and has tilted the luck plane
against themselves. The Nightly Business Report last night said that
they were ripe for a hostile takeover, thus destroying their sorry ex-
istence. Let this be a warning to all...

Now are these a few signs of the End Times(TM)? They sure as Bob MUST
BE! OR KILL ME!!!!!!!!
