Does anybody know if the specs for DEC's "LAT" Ethernet-terminal-server protocol are (a) public, and (b) available? Please MAIL replies, unless it's an official reply from DEC, and I'll post a summary in a couple of weeks. -- Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,decvax,pyramid}!utzoo!henry

The protocol specifications for Digital Equipment Corporation's "LAT" Ethernet terminal server protocol are proprietary and are not publically available. Pity; it would have a good chance of establishing a de-facto standard. See my .signature for a new entry for the "errno" contest held at Usenix. If this policy remains in effect, it will be a cold day in Hell before we buy any DEC terminal servers. -- EDEC: Stupidly non-standard brain-damaged incompatible Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology proprietary protocol used. {allegra,ihnp4,decvax,pyramid}!utzoo!henry
