Any RSCS (an IBM product) out there??? I am interested in obtaining an RSCS line driver that simply sends the files/etc destined for the node the line driver is supposed to be talking to to the reader of some other Virtual machine. The reason I want such an animal is that we have various hosts at the University of Oregon that we want to put on Bitnet. We already have an email system that serves these hosts in a reasonable fashion. Bitnet is driven by RSCS and RSCS has no provision for allowing any other low-level protocol to deliver a file or mail. What we need is a RSCS line driver that punches files/mail to some VM reader (our mailer/router) and we can then fool everyone into believing that every host on campus is directly connected to Bitnet. We are aware that there are several third party products that can be obtained to put various machines on Bitnet (UREP for Unix, Jnet for VMS, etc.), but the cost of purchasing this software for every machine on campus is too much for it to be an alternative. If anyone has any information about an RSCS line driver that punches files to a reader instead of talking to a remote host, then I would sure appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for your time.
