Disassembled source code for the PC virus producing a bouncing ball onscreen just appeared on a major Toronto BBS. It does not appear to be quite correct, nor will it assemble nonfatally with either MASM 5.1 or TASM 1.0.1 (small comforts). Furthermore, the comments are in Portugese, although the file was dubbed "italiano.asm". Now the world has been given the template for an infector (sigh). [Ed. The book "Computer Viruses: A High Tech Disease", published by Abacus, contains several (functional) source code examples, in various languages on various hardware/software platforms, of viruses. This book is readily available in bookstores and from the publisher.] - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Russ Herman | Internet: rwh@me.utoronto.ca | University of Toronto Comp.
