I own a 1980 BMW 320i. I take it in for its regular service about every 5000 miles. What I've noticed is that after a while (appx. 3500 miles) the engine runs at low revs when first started, and has very low power. I live in California, Land of the Sun, and so cold is not the problem. And it always starts right away. I just have to drive it several miles before it has any power. This is uncomfortable in dangerous intersections. Hit the gas, and the engine almost stalls! Ideas? Rick

I think that for the price you have to pay for a Bite My Wallet, you are entitled to a car that runs perfectly. Ask the dealer.

I live in Boston, land of Ice and Slush, and have noted the same problem with by 1980 BMW 320i stalling easily for the first mile or two. I just thought it was a lousy tuneup. Any more specific suggestions would be appreciated. Also, I just had the radio ripped out for the second time. Can anyone recommend a good car alarm? (Even if they don't work, you get the price back in 2 years on the insurance, but it would be nice to have one that would scare away bad guys.)
