Shouldn't these really be called "Hypotheses", or something along that
line?  They've certainly not been proven!   *8)

William Murray suggests some more, including:

That's not particularly true, I don't think.   Both disk/ette based
and program based viruses are spreading at the moment.   The most
widespread virus in the PC area is the 1813 ("Jerusalem"), which is
program-based; its vector is program files (generally .EXE or .COM),
not media.
